Terry Lee Smith

Terry Lee Smith, 73, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born on March 25, 1947 in Greene County, Indiana to John T. and Barbara R. (Roby) Smith. He married his loving wife, Penny (Booker) Smith on December 15, 2009.

Terry served in the US Army in the 101st Airborne Division, “Screaming Eagles” during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, American Legion Post #22, VFW Post #7118 and BPO Elks #866. Terry retired from General Electric as a tool and die maker in 2000 with 38 years of service at the Linton and Bloomington Plants.

Family left to cherish the memory of Terry include: his wife, Penny Smith of Linton; one daughter, Jennifer (Nick) Stewart of Linton; three grandchildren, Emma Mifflin, Jailynn Stewart and Jaxson Stewart; step-children, Travis (Michelle) McKinney of LA and Courtney (Jesse) Beel of FL; step-grandchildren, Sydney McKinney, Chloe Harrell, Hannah McKinney, Haley McKinney, Madilyn McKinney and Dalton McKinney; one sister, Susan (Charles) Cassady of Indianapolis; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services to honor the life of Terry will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Terry will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton following military graveside rites by the American Legion Post #22.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, June 8 and from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
