Virginia 'Jenny' Rose (Clayton) McCammon

Virginia Rose ‘Jenny’ McCammon, 95, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones at her home, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. She was born on October 22, 1926 in Linton to Millard and Myrtle M. (Tincher) Clayton. Jenny married the love of her life, Virgil E. McCammon on May 26, 1946.

Jenny was a member of the Church of Christ at Dugger. She graduated from Linton-Stockton High School in 1944. She worked at Gossards in Sullivan and Dogwood Lane in Dugger. The job Jenny loved the most was being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a loving granny to all who knew her. She was an excellent cook, her pies and cookies were a specialty enjoyed by many.

Family left to cherish the memories of Jenny include: two daughters; Elaine (Gary) Boone and Mazie (Jim) Walker; one son, Edward (Sheila) McCammon, all of Linton; one sister, Norvetta Knight of Poland, IN; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey (Nicole) Franklin of Linton, Julie (Jeff) Smith of Dugger, Brian Boone of Terre Haute, Doug (Cindy) McCammon, Jennifer (Jerry) McKinnon, Nick (Kristy) McCammon, Kent (Julie) Walker of Linton and Kyle Walker, all of Linton; fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Jenny was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Virgil McCammon; one daughter, Elise Franklin; son-in-law, Don Franklin and brother, Willard Clayton.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Brother Nick Moore officiating. Jenny will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
