Ervin James Ensing, 70, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 19, 1945 in Cadillac, Michigan. Ervin married the love of his life, Mary Sue Coleman on September 3, 1967.

Ervin was a 20 year US Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and was a truck driver at Werner Enterprises for 27 years before retiring. He was a member of the Saron United Church of Christ, OOIDA (Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association), NCOA (Non-Commissioned Officers Association), the Million Mile Club, Linton Masonic Lodge #560 F&AM, VFW Post #7118 and a Life Member of American Legion Post #22.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Sue Ensing; two daughters, April Scott (Rob Whitaker) and Stacy (Anthony) Elkins, all of Linton; four grandchildren, Haley Scott, Mark Scott, Ben Burris and Bailey Elkins ; sister-in-law, Dee (Rick) Stauffer of Linton and nephew, Jason Younker of Medford, OR.

Ervin was preceded in death by his in-laws, Ben and Dorothy Coleman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation or to Gentiva Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with Rev. Michael Irvine officiating. Ervin will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton at a later date.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7 at the funeral home.
