We remember Joan as a good neighbor for Bonnie Franklin (our mother). Bonnie appreciated the many visits and phone calls from Joan. We also enjoyed our conversations with her while working in the yard. Her friendship made days less lonely for Bonnie. We are so sorry for your loss.

Joan's smile would light up the room. Her joy flowed out of her heart. I so enjoyed receiving and treasure the custom decorated Christmas cards she must have toiled over. I didn't get to see aunt Joan often but looked forward to each opportunity to be around her. She will be greatly missed by many.

My deepest sympathy to the family, to those who took care of Jo during her illness, and to Wink, a long time friend. Jo was my best friend, and has been a friend since 1965, when I was a mere teen. Jo took me under her wing and our friendship took off. My visits to her home in Linton the last 20 years have been full of fun and hours of talking at her little kitchen table, having coffee on the patio in the morning, taking Happy Girl for walks and to the park, how she loved her 'Happy'. I loved her, and I miss her, but she is no longer in pain.

My fondest memories of Aunt Joan is her visits to our house. Her, my mom (Sharon) and I would set at the kitchen table giggling and laughing. She was always so optimistic and a warm huggable person.
